Economic Relief Package
We want to share information about an economic relief payment that you may be entitled to through the recently passed coronavirus relief bill.
If you qualify for a payment, you will receive your payment in one of two ways:
If your financial account is on file with the IRS, your stimulus payment will be deposited directly into your account. The IRS will use the account information from your 2019 tax return filings.
If you do not have a financial account on file with the IRS, your payment check will be mailed to you at the address the IRS has on file. You can deposit your check through one of our drive thru’s, lobbies, ATM’s or our mobile app.
While the exact day payments will be distributed is unknow at this time, we expect the Treasury Department to begin distributing payments this week. However, please note that these payments could be sent in waves, and not everyone will receive payments at the same time. We also want to remind you that the IRS will not contact you for your personal information in order to provide a payment. Stay alert to fraud, and please do not share your confidential account details.
St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union Expands Field of Membership
November 25, 2020, Ogdensburg, New York – St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union will be expanding its field of membership into an additional 11 counties (Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida, Oswego, and Warren). The Credit Union, originally established in 1954 for the employees of St. Lawrence State Hospital and their families, currently serves 1 county (St. Lawrence). Its membership includes organizations and anyone who lives, works, worships, or studies in those counties.
“St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union has always made its mission to serve the community by providing added value, personalized service, and increased flexibility; benefits that a lot of the bigger financial institutions can’t and don’t provide,” stated Todd Mashaw, President & CEO, St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union. “Our slogan, ‘Where People Are Worth More Than Money’, serves as a reminder that we are not in a money business, we are in a people business and our Members are our number one priority,” added Mashaw.
While the Credit Union will be expanding into new areas, the quality of products and level of individualized service will not change. St. Lawrence plans to maintain its small, neighborhood-oriented appeal, along with providing both traditional and technology-driven products and services – all at a reasonable cost and with the same hometown service existing Members have come to know and appreciate.
“We couldn’t be more excited about bringing the St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union’s mission to new communities and look forward to adding more satisfied Members into the St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union family”, stated Mashaw. “We have all the technology our Members need, paired with hard working employees providing outstanding face-to-face service. We will continue to spread this model wherever we expand”.
St. Lawrence FCU enlisted the help of CUCollaborate LLC to add the rural district to their existing field of membership. CUCollaborate provides field of membership consulting services to help credit unions expand their field of membership with their regulator.
